I am a Clinical Psychologist with a special interest in working therapeutically with children and their parents. I offer a range of psychological services:
THERAPEUTIC INTERVENTIONS
* Parent-Infant Psychotherapy (PIP) working with Moms/Dads and babies (up until 18 months of age) to improve bonding and attachment. Presenting difficulties may include feeding and sleep concerns, post-natal or maternal depression, excessive crying, non-responsiveness, or failure to thrive.
* Under 5's Therapy for children under the age of 5 years. This type of therapy involves working in the relationship between the child and his/her primary caregiver.
* Individual Play Therapy for children aged 5 years and older with regular parent feedbacks to keep parents involved in the process and to generalise helpful changes to other contexts in the child's life.
* Parental guidance, counselling and psychoeducation (parenting skills, support for parents, discipline, how to set boundaries, rules, structuring your home environment, how to support your children).
ASSESSMENT INTERVENTIONS
* Screening for Diagnostic and Treatment purposes.
* Cognitive/Intellectual Assessment: assess general ability, provide a profile of the individual's strengths & weaknesses and the cognitive processes underlying these, identify learning problems, and assist in clarifying diagnoses (e.g., ADD/ADHD).
* Emotional Assessment: emotional maturity, emotional difficulties, and perception of self, others & the environment.
* Full Psychological Assessment: Cognitive/Intellectual and Emotional Assessment.
